Praise or Critisim
As I read farther in the book Liar I am starting to learn more and more about the story. Micah is a liar to everyone including her teachers. She comes from a background of a lying family so what do you expect from her. I feel sorry for Micah in so many ways, I mean she has to go to school everyday and listen to people talk negative about her, call her names, and do bad things to her or directed to her. I’m confused on whether I want to take Micah’s side of not because I don’t want to take her and then in the end I’m wrong about her. I know that she is a liar but it’s so much she can take as a person or better yet as a teenager. I don’t criticize her for some of the things that she does in the book because I feel that she has a right do lie at times. She doesn’t want everyone knowing about her and Zach so she has to lie to cover it up. They were supposed to be a secret and now everyone knows about them because of Brandon. I don’t exactly praise Micah either because lying is not the best thing to do in a situation like this; she is lying to the wrong people. For example, when she lied to the detectives, those are the wrong people to lie to. The situation she is in is so serious and I believe she don’t take it as serious as she should take. This situation can get really ugly later on in the story because she is a compulsive liar. Micah has to learn from her own mistakes and in the end I think she will learn more than she expects to learn. So I don’t criticize Micah nor do I praise her for the situation that she is in but I respect her for taking it as well as she is taking it.

Interesting perspective, Terlesha. After finishing the reading for this week and learning the "surprise," do your opinions still stay the same?
