push
Push is a wonderful book so far! I have to admit it is very hard for me to read it because of the curse words and the beatings. Precious is a very strong young girl that’s struggling in school and she has to put up with her mom constantly insulting her. I can imagine how hard it is to have your mom hate you so much that she just wants to beat on you. I love reading these kinds of books because it helps you see reality. Things like this happen to people everyday of their lives. Precious has to go through so much in her life, not to mention she has 2 kids already and she not even in high school yet. That has to be really hard. Her mom hates her so much is because precious kids are by her father. So her mom is very angry that her dad wants her instead of her mother. I think that is the worst thing you can do to your child as a father. Sexual abuse is a major problem in our society today. I hate reading the sad parts in the book because it makes me cry, I don’t understand how people can be so evil to precious. Since her mother doesn’t have a boyfriend she makes precious touch her, I just think her mom is so wrong for this. No child should have to go through anything like this. Her life is really hard and the way she handles it at times is very good but, its only so much she can do about her life because she not even in high school yet. She is sent to a alternative school during her years in school, this is where I think everything starts to get a little better for her. She meets an amazing woman who helps her and at a point in time lets precious stay with her. I love reading this book and it touches me. I can’t wait to finish reading it.

Free Choice Writing
I have currently started reading the book called "Push"!! This book i would have to say is way better than the movie "Precious"!! I am not the reading type, i hate reading really boring books. All my text books for school are sooo boring. My literature book has to be the worst book i have ever attempted to read in my life. I love reading books that just grabs your attention from the beginning for example "Liar." This book grabbed my attention from the beginning, i was so interested that i wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happen next!! Those are the kind of books i love to read. Teachers get mad when i don't do certain assignments because i don't read the books, it's not that i don't want to read them i just can't get into the stories, so it makes them harder for me to read. I really think reading Push is going to make me want to read more and more because the things that are going on in the book really happens in real life! There are fathers out there that sexual harrasses their children. There are children out there having kids at very young ages. So i really think that reading this book is going to open my eyes to the world more and face the fact that these things happen to young people everyday of their lives. So i begin to think that maybe my family isn't so bad after all. I look forward to reading the book because i know its way better than the movie. I noticed that movies that have a book to go with them it's always the book thats better than the movie. I never thought i would say that because i would watch a movie over reading a book anyday!!!

New Blog
The book Liar is getting so good. It gets better every page you turn to. I love it, it keeps you guessing and wanting more every step of the book. Micah’s stories/lies are so crazy, I mean sometimes you will think like “why would she lie about that” but it’s good because you never know what to believe and what not to believe. I love Micah as a character I feel like I know her personally. I think she lies because she hurts sometimes. She is really hurt about Zach’s death. It was crazy to find out that she is a wolf, that’s so crazy but I don’t think I believe her about that. I think that’s another one of her lies. I have never heard of humans being wolves before so that’s really hard to believe but who knows maybe she is telling the truth, that’s the good part about the book you never know , it leaves you guessing at all times. I’m a little behind in the class in reading so I am just now getting to the where she starts confessing her lies one by one. I think Micah is really brave to confess her lies one by one. I just have a feeling that I am going to get mad at one of her lies she has told. She is a good liar because I believe everything she is saying and for me to find out the truth t the end is going to be shocking I think. Only time will tell though I am anxious to finish reading the book because I really want to know what is true and what isn’t true about Micah and her family.

Praise or Critisim
As I read farther in the book Liar I am starting to learn more and more about the story. Micah is a liar to everyone including her teachers. She comes from a background of a lying family so what do you expect from her. I feel sorry for Micah in so many ways, I mean she has to go to school everyday and listen to people talk negative about her, call her names, and do bad things to her or directed to her. I’m confused on whether I want to take Micah’s side of not because I don’t want to take her and then in the end I’m wrong about her. I know that she is a liar but it’s so much she can take as a person or better yet as a teenager. I don’t criticize her for some of the things that she does in the book because I feel that she has a right do lie at times. She doesn’t want everyone knowing about her and Zach so she has to lie to cover it up. They were supposed to be a secret and now everyone knows about them because of Brandon. I don’t exactly praise Micah either because lying is not the best thing to do in a situation like this; she is lying to the wrong people. For example, when she lied to the detectives, those are the wrong people to lie to. The situation she is in is so serious and I believe she don’t take it as serious as she should take. This situation can get really ugly later on in the story because she is a compulsive liar. Micah has to learn from her own mistakes and in the end I think she will learn more than she expects to learn. So I don’t criticize Micah nor do I praise her for the situation that she is in but I respect her for taking it as well as she is taking it.

free choice reading
Reading the book liar is really good for me because it is teaching me how to be patient for what happens next in the text. You never know what is going to happen next, it is all so unexpected. This text has stirred up so much emotion within me because I don't know what to believe or think. Micah is a compulsive liar so it keeps me guessing, that's what I like about books. I noticed that the text uses any language; it has actual curse words in it. The text doesn't hold anything back. The text really doesn't tackle anything, it talks about a lot of things but I think its main focus is on who killed Zach and why does Micah lie about everything for no reason at all. As of now, I really just want to know how Zach died, and why did he die?? I learned a lot from the text, I learned how somebody can be hated so much by the school but she stills stays strong through it all, I think that is so brave of Micah, she is always so calm about everything. I don't think she has any feelings because she lets so many of her peers get by with saying so many bad things about her and her family. As of now, while i am still reading the text I love every minute of it, i love the way Justin Larbalestier writes his story. This is the type of story that keeps you reading and makes you never want to stop reading. I love every minute of this story. It’s a wonderful book. It just goes to show that some students really do go through the same situations that Micah is going through!! Some questions I have about the book is;1. Why does Sarah continue to mess with Micah?2. Why would the students call Micah a murderer?3. Why did Zach cheat on Sarah in the first place?4. Does Brandon have a thing for Micah?

I started reading the book "Liar" and so far i think the book is very good. There are many parts i don't like in the book but, overall the book is really good. In the book we have met many characters so far the main character in the story as of now is Micah. Micah is a compulsive liar she lies about everything you never know when she is telling the truth. In her school people are very rude to her, they call her many names but, they also know that she is a liar. Micah was dating this young boy named Zachary Rubin. Zach is very popular in school unlike Micah. Zach and Micah meets one day and he kisses her and they pretty much go from there. Earlier in the story we find out that Zach has another girlfriend other than Micah her name is Sarah. Sarah is popular as well. One day during school everyone notices that Zach is missing and has been missing for some days. One of the teachers of the school come in and tells the students that Zach has been killed. Of course, everyone is sad and hurt But, everyone also finds out that Zach and Micah was together on the down low. No one believes this, they say" Zach would never go with her, she's ugly". They are really mean to her and now she has to go to school everyday and listen to the people talk about her and call her names. Now she is being called a murderer!! She is not very happy about being called a murderer, she would never kill Zach. This book is very good and i believe it is only going to get better as i continue to read it. I would absolutely recommend this book to anybody. I have already started telling people about it and that they have to read it. I would not have changed any element of the story, i think it is fine the way it is. Further in the book i might feel differently about that question but as of now i don't. This book is very amazing!!

Week #3. Reading Preference
I’m not really the best reader. Reading is boring to me in so many ways but certain kinds of reading may grasp my attention. I love to read real life books, like books that are true. I like reading some action books, romance, and survival stories. I like to relate to some of the books I read. In the past I have read a bunch of required books for school, many of the books was very boring. I also love to read “urban books”, a lot of these books have curse words in them but they are so real and many of them are so graphic but, I love every minute of it. These urban books are mostly about the authors and its telling what happened to them in their lives. Overall I really love reading books that grab my attention I can’t read really boring books because I’m not going to finish reading it. My favorite book i have read is "A Child Called It". This book is so good but very sad. I love this book because i can relate to this book in so many ways. It is about a young child who gets treated horribly by so many different people..he gets beaten constantly. It tells how he goes from foster home to foster home and he runs away from all of the homes. Its really sad but i love it, its a really good book. My favorite urban book is "The Coldest Winter Ever". This book is so powerful, it is really a page turner. This book is about a young girl named winter and it tells about her struggles as a young female. It explains how hard life can be for young people. I love it because it is real. I love many of books but very few interest me. I want to bevome a better reader through this class.
